Deborah Ahonen's Photo
Raised in the northwoods of the upper peninsula of michigan, Deborah's connection to nature was forged at a young age. Now a longtime transplant to the warmer clime of southwest florida, her love for nature and botany expanded with her master gardener studies. Trained in both fine art and commercial art, she combines technical skill with sensitivity and a love of color, nourished always by her endless fascination with the natural world.

Deborah has traveled extensively around the world and across the U.S. India for color, Australian aboriginal art for a fresh perspective, Egyptian art for creativity- all have made their mark on Deborah's work. In addition she is influenced by European and American masters like Van Gogh, Gauguin, Chagall, Turner, Rembrandt, Monet, and O'Keefe.

In her 30+ year career, Deborah has worked extensively with clients on commissioned paintings and designs to fulfill their needs and wants. She's adept at many media, styles, and subjects to make her patrons' dreams come true! Commissions are always welcome!

There is often a sense of other dimensions in Deborah's work, of an energy and light interacting with the subject and drawing the viewer into the passionate expression she conveys. The eye seeks to understand the hidden enigmas and cannot look away. We think you'll find images that speak to you, whispering to your soul, sparking your imagination, inspiring deep reflection upon the mysteries within Deborah's compelling visions.
