Susan Michael's Photo
Susan Ashley Michael’s aerial vignettes are captured from a helicopter (and sometimes a Cessna 152) at an altitude of 500 feet or more. All the pleasing colors and compositions that a bird’s-eye view of the Gulf coast offer are enhanced by the experience of observing beachgoers caught up in the present, in their own narratives, while the stories of others play out around them.

On the ground, her work includes bold abstract studies of local flora.
