Catherine Armbruster

An artist, decorator and former NYC fashion industry designer, Catherine Armbruster of AUTHENTIC BLEU paints unique abstract ocean art with her signature blues.

She studied fashion design & art in college then pursued creative work in NYC. It was her dream first career designing textile prints for prominent fashion houses (Calvin Klein, Banana Republic, etc) by painting and digital designs. Interior decorating was a natural progression, layering her love of textile patterns/color into beautiful interior spaces.

Catherine is creating her unique collection of ocean themed abstract art in Sarasota. Her brand, Authentic Bleu is always “Ocean-themed, BLUE, Authentic and created to inspire Wonder for the Ocean.” The ocean is her muse and she is in awe of its magnificence. She creates movement and positive energy through her acrylic and mixed media paintings, sometimes incorporating recyclable items to give back. These one of a kind artworks and prints are available gallery style in her studio. She selectively takes on decorating clients for coastal décor.

With an affinity for the ocean, Catherine is passionate about saving the ocean from plastic. Her messaging is clear as she creates and teaches classes that turn disposable plastic into ART, keeping it out of the ocean.
