Joan S. Peters

Joan Peters

Living in Florida, my inspiration has been the landscape, the beautiful moody skies, the interesting swaying palm trees, and the coastal scenes. I do paint Plein Air, which due to time constraints is usually limited in size. In summers, when it becomes too hot to be outdoors, I use my photos, sketches, and studies to paint larger canvasses. Sometimes I use abstraction to convey the feeling of the scene. I primarily use oils, but I also like experimenting and use mixed media, collage, and pastels.
