The land, our earth, what could be more inspired and inspiring?
Constantly evolving shapes and colors as seasons emerge and make way for the next. I love trying to create an image as a reflection of how these colors, curves, and angles make me feel. The land is both subject and inspiration. My paintings hope to explore the relationship between landforms, color, and shapes.
As I move between my roots in California, my adoptive State of Maine, and most recent muse, Florida , I am often a bit overwhelmed as to what to paint next. But regardless, my heart and creative soul belong to the landscape.
Years ago I started working in soft pastels but more recently I have begun to explore the lushness of oil on canvas. Our lives are full and often overwhelmed with visual stimulation so my goal is to lure the viewer in with the sumptuous colors and shapes then, as they visually travel the composition, I hope to provide quiet areas for sheer enjoyment and perhaps some contemplation.
