I am interested in surrounding myself with creatives.

I am a mixed media artist. I was always interested in collage and embroidery as a youth. I have taught art to youth with physical disabilities and also to nonverbal/verbal autistic youth.

Covid got me restarted in art for myself. I started with mixed media using items found in my surroundings, clay flowers that I made, weaving and lots of color.

I am now focusing on mixed media collage with homemade papers, acrylics, markers, pencils, etc. I can foresee a time coming when I will have my own style using all of the current and past styles.

Originally I was an abstract oil painter. Intuitively I would add more paint, movement, shape and texture to the work. As the piece developed, the color would bring me into the painting. My work was emotionally expressive, pressing my feelings out onto the canvas. Now, drawing with pastels my work is more about deliberate choices. My painting compositions reflect my stories about travel, love and family. My inspiration is derived from mother nature, learning and exploring the world outside myself as well as my internal journey of self-reflection.
