Jeanie Blazey

I have always enjoyed creating. I began painting in my 40’s, during a dark period in my life. The freedom and self-expression it allowed gave me the release I needed to heal. Over the years my style and approach have continually evolved and grown. Currently, my artistry is expressed through watercolor, acrylics and mixed media. Each new day my imagination inspires me to create something with a fresh new approach. My abstracts excite me as I combine the colors and shapes in distinctive ways. I use a more tactile approach of combining various textures to create mixed media collages. Painting whimsical creatures is simply fun. Each piece of art is a new way of exploring how layers of paint in varying shades and hues can form something unique and different. I love seeing a piece progress from my original design to the final combustion of spontaneity and vibrance.
I paint for the pure joy and freedom that creating gives me. A blank canvas, a myriad of vibrant colors, unique shapes and unusual textures, all waiting to be formed into a creation that is distinctly me – crazy, whimsical and joyful.
