One of Judy’s passions is printmaking! The process of developing images and working with them in different ways is one she finds meditative and thought provoking. Printing layer over layer, adding different techniques (collage, chine colle) or color, or mediums, making her images become more complex and magical. Loving photography, Judy was delighted to have discovered solar printmaking which allows her to incorporate photos into her printmaking repertoire – but without using toxic materials.
Inspired by the natural world and its human inhabitants – Judy sees them through a somewhat abstract lens. When out in the world, her camera is her sketchbook. In the studio, she finds it exciting to alternate and mix mediums. Judy’s work, be it collage, photography, encaustics, painting or printmaking is almost always layered, both in technique and meaning.
