My photography is an extension of being both a devoted observer and a daydreamer. Amid the world’s chaos, I seek to slow down and tune into its' quiet presence. My practice is rooted in the belief that the seemingly mundane is subtly wonderful and sometimes emptiness is peaceful.
I am drawn to the strange, deserted ordinariness of the built environment. I frame these scenes as a series of stage sets—spaces where the feeling of a past lingers like ghosts, or where an event is perpetually about to occur. I like images are deliberately quirky and possess a subtle, disquieting tension.
In opposition to the idea of the "decisive moment," I feel my photographs are simply waiting for me—every object asserts its distinct space and weight. I seek out the subtle, anthropomorphic conversations taking place between objects, inviting the viewer to look closer and find their own meaning in the small, often unnoticed wonders that surround us daily.
