Mary Fiore
My work explores memory, emotion, place, and the quiet stories hidden within everyday life. Drawing on a background in painting, photography, design, and art education, I create images and motion pieces that invite reflection, curiosity, and personal interpretation.
I am particularly interested in emotional atmosphere: the way a place, relationship, season, or fleeting moment can linger in memory long after specific details have faded. My work often combines elements of realism, abstraction, and surrealism, allowing viewers to bring their own experiences and meaning to the image.
Working digitally allows me to blend traditional artistic principles with contemporary tools. Each piece begins with an idea, mood, or visual concept developed through sketching, composition, color relationships, and design. I use a combination of Midjourney, Photoshop, and other digital tools to develop imagery, refine composition, adjust color and light, and strengthen the emotional impact of the work. Many pieces undergo extensive editing and reworking before reaching their final form.
In recent years I have expanded into motion-based artwork, transforming still images into short visual narratives through animation, sound, and video. Whether working with a single image or a moving sequence, my goal remains the same: to create painterly experiences that encourage viewers to pause, reflect, and discover their own connections within the work.
