My work reflects my connection to landscape and nature. I’m especially interested in the impact of people on the land, water, plants and animals. I grew up on Long Island and have lived near water most of my life. Water plays a large role in my paintings as do animals. My background in biology and medicine informs my thinking about species interactions. I work in watercolor and oils and I love the process of painting, especially the visceral nature of oil paint.

My paintings suggest there is a moral imperative to look closely at nature and act as a necessary witness, as wild spaces undergo rapid change and many species face the threat of extinction.
