2026 Exhibit Award Recipients

Skylar Smith, Art History Professor from Ringling College, was our judge this year. Her overall impression of the show was
“This was the best community art show I have been to in Sarasota. From the use of diverse media to its wide-ranging
subject matter, the show is a real demonstration of the talents of the members of the WCA.”

1st place: Immigrant by Lori Loveberry George – a mixed media piece

2nd place: Florida Feelings by Barbara Boeck – a textile fiber piece

3rd place: Imogene Has a Bone to Pick by Pat Pettit – a mixed media 3D

Merit Award Winners
Silver Light by Marie Bauman – An acrylic painting.
Sea at Dawn by Jana Millstone – another acrylic painting
Reflecting on Koi II by Gail White – a watercolor painting
Candee by Dirce Kennedy – an oil painting
Woven Sunset by Maura Casorio – a pastel painting
